The Bungle Bungle Range, commonly known as 'The Bungles', is one of the most fascinating geological landmarks in Western Australia, rising up to 200-metres above the Ord River Plateau. The range is cut by deep gullies, ridges and domes with prominent orange and black or grey bands. Kurrajong is one-of-two campsites in Purnululu National Park and can cater for up-to 100 vehicles. This campsite can only be accessed by 4WD vehicles. Caravans are not permitted due to the road conditions (off-road camper-trailers are permitted). Kurrajong campsite has been converted to a non-generator site. Campers with generators must book a site in Walardi campground. Picnic tables are provided at some sites and fire rings are present, mainly in group areas. Light fires only in fireplaces provided. Preferably use your own portable gas or fuel stove. Toilets are provided. Collecting wood in the National Park is not allowed. Limited wood is provided for cooking. Please do not bring your own wood as it can spread weed seed and plant diseases that can kill native flora. Kurrajong campground is closed during the Kimberley wet season.
